Join us on this year’s Olive Harvest Trip
Travel with us to the West Bank to pick olives with local families, experience Palestinian culture, and learn from local organisations. Taking part in the harvest is a simple act of solidarity that connects your prayers, learning and advocacy to
everyday life on the land.
The trip is centred in Beit Sahour, where participants stay in a local guesthouse. Much of the programme involves joining Palestinian families in their olive groves for olive picking days, alternating with educational, cultural, and advocacy activities. Below is a general outline of the trip based on previous itineraries and is subject to change depending on the situation at the time:
-
Several half or full days of olive picking in selected fields alongside local families.
-
Optional visits in Bethlehem, such as the Milk Grotto, Shepherd’s Fields, and an olive wood workshop.
-
Meetings with local partner organisations to provide background and context on life in the area and the purpose of the programme.
-
A political or geopolitical tour, guided by local experts or activists.
-
Visits to organisations working on issues such as refugee rights, displacement, and social inclusion.
-
Cultural activities, including a farewell dinner with traditional Palestinian dance.
-
Time in Jerusalem at the end of the trip, including a visit to an Embrace partner organisation.
All meals are provided, and evenings include overnight stays in Beit Sahour (with a final night in Jerusalem).
In light of the changeable situation on the ground, please be assured that your safety is paramount. The trip will only proceed if our assessments indicate that conditions are safe for participants. During this time Twelve Pilgrims will offer full refunds if the trip does not go ahead due to safety concerns.
